It took shape in 2007 when the Texas-based Argonaut Group merged with Bermuda reinsurer Odyssey Re to form Argo Group International. Its name nods to Greek myth: the Argo was the ship that carried Jason and the Argonauts on their quest for the Golden Fleece.
