A British online fashion and beauty retailer, ASOS is a digital-only marketplace that sells clothing and cosmetics from hundreds of outside labels alongside its own in-house brands to young adult shoppers around the globe. It began in 2000 as "As Seen On Screen," selling replicas of outfits worn by celebrities in films and TV shows — even stocking the wallet from Pulp Fiction — before shortening its name to ASOS as it grew beyond copycat gear.
