Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc

A company that owns and operates renewable energy and infrastructure assets — solar, wind, geothermal, energy storage, electric transmission and water — spread across North America, South America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It was founded in 2013 as Abengoa Yield by the Spanish engineering firm Abengoa, then renamed itself Atlantica in 2016 to shake off its struggling parent and later added "Sustainable Infrastructure" in 2020. Fun fact: it began as a "yieldco," a firm created purely to collect steady cash from operating assets, and it runs the Coso Geothermal Plant in California.
