A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in New Haven, Connecticut, Biohaven develops therapies for serious neurological and brain conditions that lack good treatments. Founded in 2013 by psychiatrist Dr. Vlad Coric, it created the migraine medicine Nurtec ODT, which was sold to Pfizer in 2022; the remaining research pipeline was spun off into today's independent Biohaven. Its name blends "bio" with "haven," a nod to its New Haven home, and it now works on candidates like the investigational drug troriluzole for the inherited disorder spinocerebellar ataxia.
