Delphi Automotive Plc
A maker of automotive parts and electronics, Delphi supplied vehicle makers and repair shops around the world with everything from fuel systems and sensors to electrical components. It began as General Motors' parts division, brought together in 1994 as the Automotive Components Group and renamed Delphi a year later. The name comes from the ancient Greek site of Delphi, once considered the "center of the world," which GM chose to signal wisdom and central importance. In 2017 the company split into two: Aptiv (electronics and self-driving tech) and Delphi Technologies (powertrain parts).
