Enstar Group Limited

A Bermuda-based insurer that specializes in "run-off" business: it takes over old, closed insurance portfolios that other companies no longer want, managing and settling long-tail claims like asbestos and environmental damage. It began in 1993 as Castlewood Limited, founded by Dominic Silvester and partners, and took the Enstar name after a 2007 merger that also brought it to the Nasdaq. Today it is widely called the world's largest standalone legacy reinsurance consolidator.
