Maiden Holdings, Ltd.

A Bermuda-based insurance holding company that for years sold specialty reinsurance—insurance that insurers buy to cover their own risks—to regional and specialty property-and-casualty carriers. Founded in 2007 by the same family behind AmTrust Financial Services, it long served as AmTrust's main reinsurer, taking on a share of its claims in exchange for a share of its premiums. In 2025 it merged with Kestrel Group to become Kestrel Group Ltd, a specialty "fronting" platform that lends its paper to program managers and managing general agents.
