Ocado Group Plc
A British technology company that builds the automated warehouses, robots, and software that power online grocery shopping for retailers around the world. It was founded in 2000 by three former Goldman Sachs bankers who started it as an online grocery delivery service in partnership with the supermarket chain Waitrose. The name "Ocado" is a made-up word derived from "avocado," chosen to evoke fresh fruit.
