Perception Capital Corp. III

A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a "blank check" shell with no day-to-day business, formed to raise money and merge with a private company to take it public. It began life as Portage Fintech Acquisition Corp., hunting for a financial-technology target, before renaming itself Perception Capital Corp. III in late 2023 under a new sponsor, Perception Capital Partners. Along the way it struck a merger deal with the energy firm RBio Energy Corporation. The name's "III" marks it as the third SPAC in a family of related blank-check companies.
