Reinvent Technology Partners
A series of "blank check" companies, or SPACs, that raise money through an IPO and then merge with a private tech firm to take it public. Co-founded by LinkedIn's Reid Hoffman, Zynga's Mark Pincus, and investor Michael Thompson, it operated as "venture capital at scale," backing bold startups. Its deals took electric air-taxi maker Joby Aviation and self-driving firm Aurora Innovation onto the stock market. The "Reinvent" name comes from its founders' venture firm, Reinvent Capital.
