Barnes & Noble Education, Inc.
A company that runs campus bookstores for colleges and universities across the United States, selling textbooks, digital course materials, and school-branded merchandise to students and faculty. It traces its roots to 1965, when Leonard Riggio opened a student bookstore in Greenwich Village and later acquired the Barnes & Noble name in 1971; in 2015 it was spun off as its own independent company. A fun detail: its founder's very first store was called the Student Book Exchange, and the company has grown to run both physical and online campus bookstores at schools nationwide.
