A rare-disease drugmaker whose medicines treat uncommon muscle and hormone conditions. Its best-known products include KEVEYIS, the first FDA-approved treatment for primary periodic paralysis (a rare disorder causing sudden attacks of muscle weakness), and RECORLEV, a cortisol-lowering pill for Cushing's syndrome. Originally called Cortendo, the Ireland-based company renamed itself Strongbridge Biopharma in 2015 and later became part of Xeris Biopharma.
