Vtex
A Brazilian software company that gives retailers and brands the "operating system" to run their online stores, marketplaces, and omnichannel shopping in one place. It was founded in 2000 by two mechanical engineers as "Vitrine Têxtil" ("Textile Shelf"), a procurement tool for the textile trade, before evolving into today's global commerce platform. Fun quirk: because international clients struggled to pronounce "Vitrine Têxtil," the founders simply adopted VTEX, the acronym that had long been their logo.
