CVS Group Plc

A provider of veterinary care for pets, horses, and farm animals, running hundreds of clinics and referral hospitals across the United Kingdom and Australia, plus diagnostic laboratories and an online pet-medicine shop called Animed Direct. The company was founded in 1999, right after a change in the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 that let non-veterinarians own vet practices, and it grew by buying up small-animal clinics. Fun fact: despite the familiar initials, "CVS" has no official meaning — it's just the brand name, and it's unrelated to the American pharmacy chain of the same name.
