Vivo Energy Plc
One of Africa's largest fuel distributors, Vivo Energy runs thousands of service stations across dozens of markets in Africa and beyond, selling fuels and lubricants under the Shell and Engen brands to drivers, airlines, mines and shippers. It was created in 2011 when trading firm Vitol, private equity house Helios and Shell teamed up to take over most of Shell's African downstream business, then absorbed South Africa's Engen in 2024. The name "Vivo" comes from the Latin for "I live," chosen to convey a lively, entrepreneurial spirit.
