Auto Trader Group Plc

A digital marketplace where people in the UK buy and sell cars, vans, bikes, motorhomes, and trucks. It began in 1977 when John Madejski, inspired by a car-sales magazine he spotted on a US holiday, launched the "Thames Valley Trader" as a free leaflet delivered to homes; the regional titles were consolidated and renamed Auto Trader in 1988. The last print edition appeared in 2013, and the business now lives entirely online.
