Compagnie Financiere Richemont

A Swiss luxury goods group that owns some of the world's best-known jewelry, watch, and fashion houses, including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Montblanc, and Dunhill. It was created in 1988 when South African businessman Johann Rupert split the luxury businesses from the Rembrandt Group, the diversified conglomerate his father had built around tobacco. The company takes its name from the village of Richemont in Switzerland, where its Geneva headquarters sit.
