Kuraray Co Ltd

A Japanese specialty-chemical maker whose products hide in everyday things: its EVAL resin lines food packaging to keep oxygen out, and its CLARINO was the world's first man-made leather. Founded in 1926 in the city of Kurashiki to make rayon, it later became the first to commercialize the synthetic fiber KURALON. Its name is a mash-up of its hometown, Kurashiki, and rayon.
