A maker of dental materials and equipment, Shofu Inc. produces everything from porcelain teeth and composite resins like the Beautifil line to tools used by dentists and lab technicians worldwide. Founded in Kyoto in 1922 by Kajo Shofu III, a third-generation ceramics craftsman, the company created Japan's first high-grade porcelain teeth after seven years of research. The name "Shofu" means "pine wind" in Japanese, a poetic term evoking the sound of wind through pine trees.
