Stanley Electric Co Ltd

A maker of the headlights, taillights and lighting systems that go into cars from Toyota, Honda, Nissan and other big automakers, Stanley Electric was the first in the world to mass-produce LED headlamps. It began in 1920 as a small Tokyo shop called Kitano Shokai selling specialty light bulbs. Its name comes from Sir Henry Morton Stanley, the explorer famous for the line "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" — a nod to the courage the founder wanted for the young company.
