Yamaha Motor Co Ltd
A maker of motorcycles, boats, outboard motors, ATVs, snowmobiles and golf carts, Yamaha Motor is one of the world's largest builders of motorized vehicles, from the R-series sport bikes to WaveRunner watercraft. It was spun off in 1955 from the musical-instrument company Nippon Gakki, founded in 1897 by Torakusu Yamaha, who started by repairing a school reed organ. That shared heritage lives on: Yamaha Motor and the piano maker still share the famous three-tuning-fork logo, a nod to their musical roots.
