Lg Corp
A South Korean holding company that oversees the LG group of businesses, including LG Electronics, maker of OLED televisions and home appliances. It grew out of Lak Hui Chemical, founded in 1947 by Koo In-hwoi to make Lucky Cream, the country's first cosmetic cream, with the electronics arm GoldStar following in 1958. The name LG simply blends the original pair's names—Lucky and GoldStar.
