Bridgetown Holdings Ltd
A special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), or "blank check company," created to raise money and merge with a business in technology, financial services, or media across Southeast Asia. It was a partnership between Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li's Pacific Century Group and Peter Thiel's Thiel Capital, both backers of "new economy" ventures. The name nods to a small city; fittingly, the company lived up to it by combining with MoneyHero Group, a personal-finance comparison platform, and later taking the merged firm public on the Nasdaq.
