Esm Acquisition Corporation
A special-purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a "blank check" company that raised money through an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 to hunt for a business to merge with. It was created as a joint venture by two natural-resources investment firms, with a focus on companies tied to the global shift toward a low-carbon economy. After failing to strike a deal, it redeemed its public shares and dissolved in 2023, a fate that befell many blank check firms of that era.
