A blank-check company (a special purpose acquisition vehicle formed to raise money and buy an existing business) that went public in 2021 on the New York Stock Exchange. It agreed to buy the CSA copper mine in New South Wales, Australia, from the mining giant Glencore, and once that deal closed, it shed its shell and became MAC Copper Limited, now actually running the mine. Its name said it plainly: a vehicle created to acquire metals-and-mining businesses.
