Silver Spike Acquisition Corp II
A "blank check" company, or SPAC, created to raise money and merge with an operating business — Silver Spike Acquisition Corp II was a shell formed in 2020 by Silver Spike Capital, an investment firm focused on the legal cannabis market. It struck a deal to combine with the psychedelics-focused biopharma firm Eleusis, but both sides backed out in 2022 and the company later wound down. Its name nods to the Golden Spike that joined America's first transcontinental railroad in 1869, symbolizing the firm's aim to link the cannabis industry with mainstream finance.
Units, each consisting of one Class A ordinary share and one-fourth of one redeemable warrant — Liquidated March 2023 after failed merger with Eleusis. Units separated into SPKB (Class A shares) and SPKBW (warrants) in May 2021.
