Mellanox Technologies Ltd
A maker of high-speed networking gear that moves data through supercomputers and data centers, Mellanox was best known for pioneering InfiniBand and high-performance Ethernet switches and adapters used in the world's most powerful machines. Founded in Israel in 1999 by engineers from Intel and Galileo, it was bought by Nvidia in 2020 and now lives on as the backbone of Nvidia's AI computing platforms. The name itself is a mash-up of "Millennium," "Ella" (founder Eyal Waldman's then-wife), and a nod to the tech brand Xerox.
