Magicjack Vocaltec Ltd
A maker of Voice over Internet Protocol gear, magicJack VocalTec is best known for its magicJack USB dongle, which plugs a regular landline phone into a computer to make calls over the internet. The company was born in 2010 when magicJack's parent, YMAX, merged with Israeli firm VocalTec, the pioneer that released the first commercial VoIP software, "Internet Phone," in 1995. Fittingly for a product that conjures a phone line from thin air, the "magicJack" name plays on its seeming magic.
