Acacia Communications Inc
A maker of high-speed optical networking gear, Acacia builds the silicon chips and pluggable modules that carry the internet's data over light, used by cloud providers, data centers, and telecom carriers. Founded in 2009 by three engineers who wanted to "siliconize" optical interconnects, the company shrank bulky, pizza-box-sized equipment down to roughly the size of a coin. It was acquired by Cisco in 2021.
