It is also one of the three co-owners of IELTS, the English-language test taken by millions of students worldwide for study and migration. Born in 1969 as an Australian government program to share agricultural science with Indonesia, it grew from a scholarship scheme into a student-placement business — and its name "IDP" originally stood for International Development Program.
