A Norwegian media holding company that for years controlled Dagbladet, one of the country's most widely read newspapers, first printed in 1869. The Berner name honors Hagbard Emanuel Berner, the paper's founding editor and a prominent figure in 19th-century Norwegian public life. In 2013, the Danish media group Aller Media bought the company, bringing the Berner era of newspaper ownership to a close.
