Gener8 Maritime Inc
A U.S.-based shipper of crude oil by sea, Gener8 Maritime ran a large fleet of "eco" Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) — the giant tankers that haul oil across oceans — for customers worldwide. It was born in 2015 from a merger of General Maritime and Navig8 Crude Tankers, and its name blends the two: "Gener" from General Maritime and "8" from Navig8. One of its ships, the Gener8 Hector, was the first VLCC ever built in the Philippines. In 2018 the company was absorbed by the tanker giant Euronav.
