Founded in 2005 by Reeve B. Waud and headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, the company went public in 2011 through a merger with PHC, Inc. Its name comes from Acadia National Park, where the sunrise over Cadillac Mountain is said to be the first in the nation — a metaphor for helping patients move from darkness into recovery.
