Bio-Reference Laboratories Inc
A large US clinical diagnostic laboratory that runs a broad menu of medical tests—from routine health screenings to specialized cancer diagnostics through its GenPath division—for doctor's offices, hospitals, and government agencies. It began in 1981 when physician Dr. Marc Grodman launched a fleet of vans, called Med-Mobile, that drove to firehouses to give union workers physicals; he later sold that business and refocused on lab work, rebranding as Bio-Reference. Today it is part of the healthcare company OPKO Health and is based in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
