Biodelivery Sciences International Inc
A maker of specialty pharmaceuticals that developed a thin, dissolving film placed inside the cheek to deliver medicines for chronic pain and other conditions. Founded in 1997 in Raleigh, North Carolina, it sold products including the pain medicine BELBUCA and the migraine drug ELYXYB. Its signature delivery method was named BEMA, short for BioErodible MucoAdhesive, and the company was folded into Collegium Pharmaceutical in 2022.
