A maker of automated blood tests that identify germs in a patient's blood and check which antibiotics will fight them, turning results around in hours instead of days with its Accelerate PhenoTest BC kit. Founded in Colorado in 1982, the company lived for years as Accelr8 Technology Corporation before renaming itself Accelerate Diagnostics in 2012 — a name chosen to put its promise of speed front and center.
