BLACKROCK FLTNG RT INC TR
A closed-end investment fund that pools money to buy floating-rate loans made to companies, which is why its interest payments rise and fall with short-term rates. Launched in 2004 by the giant asset manager BlackRock, it was originally called the BlackRock Global Floating Rate Income Trust before being shortened. The loans it holds are "senior secured," meaning they sit near the front of the line for repayment if a borrower runs into trouble.
