A Chicago-based bank that served small and mid-sized businesses and everyday customers with checking, savings, and commercial lending. It traces its roots to 1911, when Mid-City National Bank opened in the shadow of the city's famous stockyards. The name MB stitches together its two parent banks — the M from Manufacturers National Bank and the B from Mid-City. In 2019, Fifth Third Bank absorbed it, and its branches now carry the Fifth Third name.
