The Shyft Group, Inc.
A North American maker of specialty vehicles and truck bodies, best known for its Utilimaster delivery vans and Royal Truck Body work trucks used by fleets and utilities. It began in 1975 in Charlotte, Michigan, when four engineers left the bankrupt Diamond Reo truck maker to build custom fire-truck chassis, operating for decades as Spartan Motors. In 2020 it renamed itself The Shyft Group—spelled with a "y" to signal speed and agility—and was later folded into the Aebi Schmidt Group.
