City National Corp.

A Los Angeles-based bank and financial-services firm known as the "Bank to the Stars" for its long ties to Hollywood, serving actors, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and professionals with banking, lending, trust, and investment services. Founded in 1954 as City National Bank of Beverly Hills by Columbia Pictures director Alfred Hart, it dropped "Beverly Hills" from its name in 1964 as it expanded. In a famous bit of lore, the bank rushed the ransom cash that freed Frank Sinatra Jr. after his 1963 kidnapping; it was later acquired by Canada's Royal Bank of Canada in 2015.
