A Brazilian fashion and lifestyle retailer, Lojas Renner runs department stores selling clothing for women, men, and children, plus shoes, accessories, and beauty products, along with its home-decor brand Camicado. The business began in 1912 as the A.J. Renner manufacturing group in Porto Alegre, founded by Antônio Jacob Renner, a descendant of German immigrants, and opened its first textile store in 1922 before becoming a standalone company in 1965. The name comes from its founder, whose German surname originally meant "runner" or messenger.
