Ebara Corporation
A Japanese maker of pumps and industrial machinery, Ebara supplies fluid-moving equipment for water, wastewater, power, and oil and gas, plus vacuum pumps for semiconductors and compressors under its Elliott Group brand. It began in 1912 when Issey Hatakeyama set up shop in Tokyo to build domestic pumps that could replace imported Western ones, and it took its name from the Ebara district where its first plant stood. The company's founding motto, "passion and dedication," still guides it today.
