Swisscom AG
A telecommunications and IT company that runs Switzerland's largest mobile and fiber-optic networks, offering phone, broadband, and digital TV to homes and cloud and cybersecurity services to businesses. It was born in 1997 when the telecom arm of the state-run PTT (Post, Telegraph, and Telephone) was spun off into its own company, and its name simply fuses "Swiss" with "com" for communication. The Swiss government still holds a majority stake, and its headquarters sit in Worblaufen, a village just outside Bern.
