Ntt Docomo, Inc.
A mobile telecommunications carrier and Japan's largest, NTT Docomo provides mobile phone and data services to consumers and businesses across the country. It was spun off from the national telecom NTT in 1991 after NTT's privatization, and in 1999 it launched i-mode, widely credited as the world's first successful mobile internet platform. The name is a double pun: it abbreviates "Do Communications over the Mobile network" and echoes the Japanese word dokomo, meaning "everywhere."
