Kingfisher Plc
A home improvement retailer whose stores and websites sell tools, paint, and garden supplies under well-known banners like B&Q and Screwfix in the UK and Castorama and Brico Dépôt across Europe. It began in 1982 as Paternoster Stores, a company set up to buy the British arm of Woolworths, and was renamed Kingfisher in 1989. Despite the name, it wasn't named after the colorful bird — the rebrand was a corporate choice to move past the Woolworths name.
