A Boulder, Colorado life-sciences company that measures the body's proteins to understand health and disease. Its SomaScan platform reads thousands of proteins at once from a tiny drop of blood, helping researchers spot biological markers in studies of everything from cancer to heart disease. Founded in 2000 by University of Colorado professor Larry Gold, the company took its name from the Greek word "soma," meaning body—fitting for a firm chasing the "logic of the body." In 2024 it merged into Standard BioTools, becoming its wholly owned subsidiary.
