A maker of custom, patient-specific knee and hip implants, Conformis uses CT scans of a patient's own anatomy to design and 3D-print joint replacements that match each person's unique shape, rather than offering one-size-fits-all parts. Founded in 2004 by Harvard radiologist Dr. Philipp Lang, the company's name comes from the Latin word for "similar" or "like," reflecting its mission to make implants that mirror each patient's body. Its iTotal and iUni knee systems are built through its iFit Image-to-Implant technology.
