Canadian Solar Inc.

A maker of solar panels and battery energy storage systems, Canadian Solar also develops and operates large-scale solar and storage power projects around the world through its Recurrent Energy arm, with storage gear sold under the e-STORAGE brand. It was founded in 2001 by Dr. Shawn Qu, a former Ontario Hydro research scientist, who has said the name "Canadian Solar" was simply the first name that popped into his head.
