Vascular Biogenics Ltd.
A biopharmaceutical company that develops gene-based therapies for cancer and immune-inflammatory diseases. Founded in 2000 by Professor Dror Harats, an expert in vascular biology, the Israeli firm works from Modiin on its lead drug candidate, VB-111, which aims to treat tumors by targeting the blood vessels that feed them. Its name comes from that focus—combining "vascular" (blood vessels) with "biogenics" (gene-based medicines)—and it long traded under the simpler name VBL Therapeutics.
