Dassault Systemes SE
A French software company that makes 3D design and simulation tools used by engineers to build everything from airplanes to cars. Its flagship program, CATIA, helps manufacturers create digital models of products before they're built. The company was spun off from Dassault Aviation in 1981, when a small team of engineers turned their aircraft-design software into a business. The Dassault name itself comes from a World War II codename meaning "assault tank."
